One precedes two
When considering political action,
determine the primary objectives.
Failure to do so, causes wastes
of time on secondary perspectives.
Notes by the author
This applies to those who are considering action to take themselves, and those considering the criticism of actions taken by others.
I wrote this when I considered the reluctance of Tony Blair to postpone the local and general elections at the time of the foot and mouth outbreak. On the face of it, the seriousness of the outbreak seemed sufficient reason. I then realised that postponement would reduce the chances of the Labour Party winning, because of their continued mismanagement and the total consequential effects on the country.
So, the primary objective was for the Party to win; the secondary, to control the disease for the country!
