Birds In Loft
I know a man with birds in his loft,
who does not want them to suffer.
Now and then he gathers them up
in a dusty and featherfull kerfluffer.
From boxes, he frees them well away,
ten miles to the coast, to be sure.
But every time, when home again
he finds his loft is full once more.

I know that the real purpose of the exercise is just so!
It just struck me that from another point of view, pigeon fanciers seem to fail every time they try to empty their cotes.
